GitHub Engineering is looking for an experienced technical project manager to join our remotely distributed organization. Interested in being a force multiplier, organizer, and strategic planning partner for growing, scaling, and running our business more effectively?

As a Staff Technical Project Manager for GitHub’s Engineering organization, you will partner with the Engineering Operations Team and functional Engineering leadership to develop, track, and manage hiring motions and workforce plans. You will document and mature business processes within teams and coordinate Engineering-critical work streams across the organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project management for hiring motions - Work with team and department leadership to establish, document, and communicate hiring motion logistics. You will drive standups as needed, identify gaps and work closely with our talent and HR partners to shift with hiring plans as needed in order to ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Budget and workforce planning - Manage resourcing plans, hiring pipeline and execution in support of a rapidly growing organization across all of Engineering. Manage assets, cross-company access and alignment with our administrative team to ensure the enablement of vendors and Hubbers alike.

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years or demonstrable proficiency in business or project management with a focus on technical expertise
  • General experience in the following disciplines with deep experience in one or more:
    • Project Management
    • Conflict Management
    • Internal communications
    • Driving cross-functional Engineering initiatives
  • Proven ability to work in an independent manner with minimal oversight, and to work across teams and partner well with people with diverse professional backgrounds
  • Demonstrated project ownership and consistent delivery against commitments, including strong organizational skills, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Experience working with remote and distributed teams
  • Exceptional documentation and written communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience working closely with Engineering teams
  • Experience working with git and GitHub
  • Understanding of the developer ecosystem
  • Scripting experience with Ruby, Python, Go, Bash, Powershell or other languages
  • Experience working with MySQL databases, and custom report creation
  • Develop reports with strong data analysis. Build interactive executive reporting dashboards with data visualization

Bonus points if you have

  • Experience working closely with Engineering teams
  • Experience working with git and GitHub
  • Understanding of the developer ecosystem

Location: In this role, you can work remotely from the following countries: Austria, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom or onsite in one of GitHub’s European offices (Amsterdam, Oxford).
